Initial training and selection of potential Greeters of Belgrade is under way 06.05.2010.

At tourist information center,located in the Knez Mihailova Street No. 6-Belgrade Greeters headquaters, has started the training and selection of potential Greeters Belgrade.

All interested citizens who have signed over the last few months during the events in the city ,will be informed about the functioning of training and next steps.

All those interested in participating in various events across the city, will be informed about training sections and further plans.

Potential Greeters will undergo the basic and specific training in order to be absolutely ready to welcome Belgrade visitors, when they want to meet with them.

„Vai Pra Onde“ show crew from Rio de Janeiro visited Belgrade during the period 14th – 17th of march 2010.

Their wish was to represent Belgrade through one entertaining and fun way, and to bring Belgrade closer to their audience in one very colorful way - through lives of young people living in this city as well as its citizens in general.  Therefore, Belgrade greeters have been actively involved during their stay. Our wish was to represent Belgrade in the spirit of all the greeters in the world, and welcome our guests in Portuguese language.

Our future Greeters Tijana - fluent in Portuguese, and Romana have been of enormous help, as they have representeted young people of Belgrade as good speakers of foreign languages, and in that way, Belgrade has given a good example to the world. 

Shooting of the show has started in a trolley bus where they’ve made an introductory part in a very interesting way, with citizens of Belgrade. After, they took off to Belgrade University, curious about the student life in Belgrade, and university itself. During the tour of Belgrade Fortress, we ran into a film crew „Montevideo Bog te video“, and they’ve greeted us in their own way, where Sergej Trifunovic, our famous actor gave an interview for the show.  Rest of the day was spent in tavern „?“.

They’ve tried Serbian culinary specialities, and they’ve  experienced how much Serbs enjoy their food and tradition of drinking coffee. 
In the afternoon, they’ve visited house of princess Ljubica, where they could record authentic enterier from the 19th century.

During the evening and night, they went to several clubs on and off the river and were very satisfied with what they’ve recorded and pointed out that the reportage that they made about Belgrade will be very interesting to their viewers in Brasil.

They hope that they will visit Belgrade again, and at the end, with a big THANK YOU, they’ve invited us to be their guests in Brasil.

Promotion of volunteer service Belgrade Greeters on 32nd International Tourism Fair in Belgrade 24.- 28. February 2010.

During the Fair of Tourism, Belgrade Greeters presented its logo and website and interested citizens of Belgrade filled out questionnaires and thus became potential Greeters of our town. Our guests in Belgrade were the chairman of the Global Greeter Network Mr. Jos Nusse from the Netherlands and the director of Nantes Greeters Sylvie Huron from France.

They made a presentation on „ Developing Greeters network in the world ” where we could be confident that the network Greeters is rapidly expanding and that during one year, they’ve doubled the number of cities that have Greeters services in its tourist facilities. Guests did not hide their positive impressions of our city with the promise to visit us again.

Belgrade is the first city in Southeastern Europe that joined the Global Greeter Network and therefore we express hope that other cities in Serbia and in the region will follow the example of Belgrade.
